Versatile Defender of Club Juventus – Giorgio Chiellini

Giorgio Chiellini is a professional football player, born in 1984, who played for Italian national football team and club Juventus. He started playing football when he was six years old. In the beginning, he was deployed as a midfielder. He also has been deployed as a winger prior to find his optimal position – left back. He signed a co-ownership deal with AS Roma in June 2012 for €3.1 million. Unfortunately, he was loaned to Livorno for the 2002–03 Serie B season. He made played six football games for the team in the whole season, and he also completed his first appearance with the team.

On the basis of his outstanding performances on football pitch, Chiellini was selected as member of the starting line-up for the club. Unfortunately, he missed the 2015 UEFA Champions League Final against Barcelona for his muscle tear on his left calf. The Juventus side were conquered by club Barcelona at Berlin’s Olympiastadion. Chiellini have to stop playing football games after an injury in a 2-1 away win against Lechia Gdańsk for three weeks. He was also a nominee for the 2015 UEFA Team of the Year. What’s worse, he also missed the first round football games of the Champions League for his severe injuries. The guy can’t wait to go back to football pitch on February while the injury to his thigh cause his ruling out once again.

Because of his absence for a long time, some doubted that whether he will absent for the second leg of Champions League. Some people estimated that he will return to football match in ten days, but the fact is disappointing for most football fans. He missed the second leg of the Coppa Italia semi-finals against Internazionale in Mard and a Serie A match against Atalanta in March.

When it comes to his experiences playing with Italy national football team, the footballer accomplished his first appearance in 2004 when he was 20 years old. After his first appearance with the Italy national football team, he turned to be a regular member of the Italy national football team. Before his first international appearance representing Italy national football team, he played for youth teams of Italy side at all levels. In addition, he also played the 2004 Summer Olympics. Although Italy national football team have been eliminated in the group stage, he played the 2006 and 2007 U-21 Championships, winning two goals for the football team. He played 26 appearances for the U21 side, ending with six goals in 26 football games.

In 2017, he won his first international goal for Italy national football team in a football match against the Faroe Islands team. Chiellini earned his cap for UEFA Euro 2008 when Roberto Donadoni coached the Italy national football team. In a collision with then captain, the captain was injured and caused his missing out on the tournament. He also was ruled out in the opening game. Fortunately, he was deployed as a center-back from the second game onwards.
